Following the success of the first Women Who Build event in downtown Toronto, Business Woman PRO Canada is bringing the next edition of this growing initiative to Mississauga.


Women Who Build: Leadership in Action will bring together approximately 100 women entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, political representatives, newcomers and community leaders for a day of meaningful conversations, practical insights and valuable connections.


This event is designed for women who are building businesses, careers, organizations and stronger communities. Through open and engaging discussions, our speakers will share their professional experiences, leadership journeys, challenges, achievements and practical advice.


The program will create opportunities to:


  • Learn from experienced women in business, politics and community leadership;

  • Discover resources and opportunities for professional and business growth;

  • Build meaningful connections with entrepreneurs, executives and community leaders;

  • Exchange ideas and explore future partnerships;

What to Expect


The event will feature three dynamic panel discussions focused on leadership in action.


  1. Women in Business


Successful entrepreneurs, executives and business professionals will discuss what it takes to build and grow a business, develop strong professional networks and adapt to an evolving economy.


The conversation will explore:


  • Starting and growing a business in Canada;

  • Access to professional resources and business support;

  • Leadership and decision-making;

  • Building a trusted professional network;

  • Overcoming barriers faced by women entrepreneurs;

  • Innovation, skills development and future opportunities;

  • Creating sustainable and socially responsible businesses.



    2. Women in Politics


Women with experience in politics, government and public service will share their leadership journeys and discuss why women’s voices matter in public decision-making.


The panel will explore:


  • Women’s participation in political and civic life;

  • Leadership in public service;

  • Pathways into politics;

  • Representation and inclusive decision-making;

  • Challenges faced by women in political leadership;

  • Building stronger relationships between government, businesses and communities;

  • Encouraging the next generation of women leaders.

  • Women in Community Leadership and Social Impact



  1. Community leaders and changemakers will discuss how women are building stronger, more inclusive and connected communities.


Topics will include:


  • Community leadership and social impact;

  • Supporting newcomers and underrepresented groups;

  • Creating effective partnerships across sectors;

  • Advocacy and human rights;

  • Turning community needs into practical initiatives;

  • Developing sustainable organizations and programs;

  • The role of women in creating positive social change.


Each panel will include an audience question-and-answer session, giving participants an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.

Dr. Elyse Watkins


Associate Director of Corporate Strategy, Future Skills Centre


Dr. Elyse Watkins will contribute her expertise in strategy, workforce development, future skills and the changing needs of Canada’s labour market.
