Marichka is a Ukrainian-Canadian singer, folklorist, musician, and activist whose voice has echoed across some of the world’s most renowned stages — Carnegie Hall (USA), Barbican Centre (UK), and the Colours of Ostrava Festival (Czech Republic).
In 2025, she launched “Daughters of Donbas”, an emotionally charged acoustic project blending art-folk, chamber music, and Ukrainian vocal traditions. Her music tells stories of resilience, identity, and hope.
Marichka teaches and preserves the centuries-old Ukrainian singing style known as “open voice”, collecting and sharing traditional songs through years of ethnographic expeditions.
She has also devoted herself to volunteering — performing for soldiers, serving as a combat medic and journalist in Eastern Ukraine, and using her voice to bring light where it’s most needed.
Her work has been recognized with multiple international awards, including the Amnesty International Award, Fringe First Award (Edinburgh), Dora Awards, and Stingray Rising Stars Award.
🎶 Her voice carries the soul of Ukraine and the power of truth.
