Mayor of Port Hope, Ontario (Canada), political scientist, academic, advocate, and one of the leading voices for inclusive governance and equity in public policy.
Dr. Olena Hankivsky represents a new generation of leadership — bold, community-driven, and focused on lasting change. Since being elected in 2022, she has led her municipality with a clear vision: to expand access to affordable housing, build inclusive infrastructure, support local development, and ensure transparent governance.
Before her role in public office, Dr. Hankivsky built an international academic career as an expert in intersectionality, feminist public policy, and social justice. Her research and advocacy have impacted how governments understand and serve diverse populations.
