Leadership begins with service — to people, to community, and to future generations

Minister Kusendova-Bashta was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2018 as the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), and has since emerged as a dedicated leader in healthcare, long-term care, and public policy.

Currently serving as Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, she is at the forefront of improving care and services for Ontario’s aging population, leading essential reforms in one of the province’s most critical sectors.

In her role as MPP, Minister Kusendova-Bashta has championed issues related to healthcare, mental health, education, and emergency response. Her background in nursing and public service uniquely positions her to understand and advocate for the needs of both frontline workers and the communities they serve.

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario, where she serves, is responsible for debating and passing laws, holding the government accountable, and approving public spending. It is housed in the historic Legislative Building at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

Minister Kusendova-Bashta’s journey in politics reflects integrity, compassion, and a commitment to meaningful public service. We are proud to feature her among the inspiring voices of the Business Woman Forum 2026.
