Svitlana Kominko, PhD — Leading the “Heal a Mother’s Heart” Movement

Svitlana is a psychologist, educator, and community leader with over 30 years of professional experience in international education, academic leadership, and curriculum development. She is a Professor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), where she played a key role in building the institution’s international education portfolio, including double-degree partnerships with universities in Germany, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland, as well as academic programs across Europe and Asia.

She is the Founder of Soloway Global Education and the Executive Director of Maple Hope Foundation, which has delivered over CAD $40 million in humanitarian, medical, and psychosocial support to Ukrainians in Ukraine and Canada since the full-scale invasion.

Since the Revolution of Dignity, her professional focus has centred on trauma, loss, grief, and healing. She is the author of a psychological-recreational program supporting women grieving the loss of their children or spouses and serves as a mentor for the international initiative “Heal a Mother’s Heart.”

Our organization, Business Woman Forum, has joined the fundraising efforts for the “Heal a Mother’s Heart” program. We are truly proud of our partnership with Maple Hope Foundation and the opportunity to support mothers in need of healing, care, and professional psychological support.

During the third panel, Svitlana will share her perspective on leadership through service, resilience, and the power of women’s support in times of profound challenges.
